I went on my winter break from Pitt today and I saw a gem... what does it do?

There are many types of gems..there are Titan Gemstone,Torment Gemstone ,Margonite Gemstone and the Stygian Gemstone.They are from Quest, Mallyx the Unyielding which can be found in the gate of anugish.You can trade gems to the Coffer of Whispers and get a random rare item like a Anguish Gemstones,Demonic Keys ,Elixir of Valor ,Miniature Mallyx the Unyielding,Scroll of the Lightbringer ,Tormented weapon...there are more to be more are unknown.The gems are also used for the quest to get razah.Gems are worth alot.
